Stolen Footage

HNN has recently suffered a small set back. We have lost all the footage that we shot while we were in San Francisco for RSA last February. That includes everything we shot on the RSA show floor, the Symantec Black Market, (which if it comes to your town you should visit) the hours of video we shot at the hacker space NoiseBridge, and several hours of a one on one interview with Joe ‘Kingpin’ Grand where we discussed everything from his stint on the hit TV show ‘Protoype This’ to all of the designs he has done for the Defcon badges. All of that footage is now gone.

Ok, Ok, the footage wasn’t lost, it was stolen, along with our video camera, laptop, microphone, hard drive lights, paperwork, etc etc etc Don’t let anyone tell you that physical security isn’t important.

For the time being HNN will soldier on. This will definitely impact all the episodes of “Behind the Firewall” we had planned to make with all that footage and the filming of a few “Buffer Overflow” episodes will now be delayed. We still plan on releasing episodes of HNNCast every week using a borrowed video camera and an old G5. You may notice a small drop in video quality but the content will maintain its ongoing high standards.

With any luck we will be back on our feet in time for HOPE and Defcon.
